Regular full year passenger plates issued by the State of Michigan, starting in 1910
Prior to 1910, the owner was issued a "dashboard disc" with a number on it and had to supply his/her own license plate

The number of digits on a license plate determined the size of the license plate:
One Number to Three Numbers = 8 5/8" x 4 1/2"
Four Number = 10" x 4 1/2"
Five Number = 12" x 4 1/2"
