This plate has special meaning to me for more than one reason Reason #1 - It was a gift to me from the late Roy Carson, "Mr License Plate" - old "17 Sez" Reason #2 - It has my MLPCA Membership Number on it Reason #3 - When Roy sent it to me, he related the history behind the plate. The plate was used on the vehicle assigned to the Minority Speaker of the House of Representatives at the time of the inauguration - Gerald R. Ford, who was a part of the Michigan delegation to the House of Representatives, and who was appointed Vice-President in December 1973 when Spiro Agnew resigned. And, when President Nixon resigned in August 1974, Gerald R. Ford became President. |
