OKAY, WHAT'S ALL THIS GOING TO COST ?????
Like everything else, the cost of "hobbies" are also rising.
On February 22, 2006, I talked with Gary "Dude" Boardman, the Kenilworth Lodge Golf Director, about this year's cost.
Gary "Dude" Boardman, Golf Director, Kenilworth Lodge, Sebring, Florida
After "crunching the numbers", the total cost for this years (2006) outing will be as follows:
Cottages (behind the efficiencies) $199.00 plus 7% tax of $13.93 = $212.93
Efficiencies (around the pool) $208.00 plus 7% tax of $14.56 = $222.56
Apartments (next street over) $220.00 plus 7% tax of $15.40 = $235.40
Penthouse (In Main Lodge) $232.00 plus 7% tax of $16.24 = $248.24
As everyone will be sending me a deposit of $125, of which $50 will be forwarded to the Kenilworth Lodge (the other $75 is for the prize money), your final costs upon checking in at the Kenilworth Lodge will be as follows:
Cottages: $162.93
Efficiencies: $172.56
Apartments: $185.40
Penthouse: $198.24
Still very reasonable for 3 nights lodging, 4 "Continental" breakfasts, 4 days of golf, prize money and a chance to see old friends. That works out to an average of about $76.00 per day for the 4 days of golf, lodging and prize money..
And, since a lot of you are retired and have all the time in the world, you can drive to Florida (those than don't already live there), and pick up cans and bottles in both directions. You can then bring them all back to Michigan and redeem them for the 10 cent deposit, thus partially paying for the trip, and in the process doing your part in "Beautifying the Highways and Byways of America".
Look forward to seeing all of you in September 2006 !!!!!!!
